Question for Jim Ablett?

Postby Michael Sherwin » 13 Oct 2007, 04:21

Hi Jim,

Really two questions.

First one is, would you be interested in doing a PGO compile for RomiChess 32 and 64 bit versions when the next release version is ready?

Second question is about the Norm Pollock downloads. Feel free not to answer if you feel that Norm is the one that should answer. When I follow the links for Norm's pgn 40h utilities and his game collections it takes me to a site where the file is listed, but there is only celeberty porn to click on. What is up with that? If that is what it is all about now then you should remove those links from your site.

Thanks,
Mike

I had no problem navigating to Norm's downloads and getting 40H by starting at http://homepages.tesco.net/henry.ablett/jims.html

Hello Michael,

Knowing that stalwart as I do, the answer is probably yes unless work and home pressures have assumed monstrous proportions.

Norm's site is positively boring. Only the pgns and his programs are up and I have followed those links at least three time. Of course I had no interest in seeing celebrity porn of any description!

I do not know what is happening at your end but it sounds intriguing...

Later.

If you use Firefox I suggest to use a plug-in called "Adblock Plus" It eliminates 99% of all adds over here. It also successfully eliminates all annoying avatars which can be found here and there.

If needed it can also be disabled if you need it for a site of your interest I guess the pictures on the mentioned site are not worth that effort? I don't see them at all ;-).

Thanks for the replies guys!

I went to Jim's site just a minute ago and the Orbitfiles site that Norm's files are on looks different, there is no porn and I can download his files. Maybe that site got temporarily hijacked on the server that My computer goes through to get there, or something like that. Anyway I am getting the files that I wanted and every thing is alright! :D
