Hi Johan,
thanks for this tournament! Finally good performance by Gromit after
many mediocre to bad rankings in other tournaments. IMHO the reason is
the slow timecontrols you use (most other tournaments were blitz) and,
of course, luck

Best regards,
Frank
Thanks Frank, I always use slower timecontrols. But i think that my faster
processor also helps a lot for Gromit.
I always liked your program and i am looking forward to a new and stronger version. (with analyses support please)
But there are still 2 rounds to go. Gromit could end seventh also, but he has to play Inmichess in the next round.
Johan
Gromit definately likes AMD-Processors. It seems that for Gromit a PII 500 is only about twice as fast as my own K6/200.
Since I'm currently short on time I can't promise anything...
Of course, however, I'm satisfied with the good results so far.
When testing before the WCCC 99 I had a version (2.16) which had some very good
testresults. Version 2.20 is slightly different and had some not so good
results, therefore I'm not sure if 2.20 is really stronger. Your tournament
(and the WCCC) indicates that it was a good decision to use 2.20 in Paderborn.
Thanks,
Frank
