Faster Single CPU AMY

Here is a new binary for Amy:
ftp://38.168.214.175/pub/amy/amyf.exe
It only works with one CPU. It uses the inline assembly routines from Crafty for bit counting and finding the first bit. It is compiled single threaded, so it will only use one CPU. However, it is much faster than the previous iteration, often getting a full ply deeper. Since most people only have one CPU, I thought a lot of people might enjoy a copy.

Excellent. I'm getting somewhat confused with all the various Amy06 versions floating around..
Still, seems to me that the Dann Corbit "complied" versions tends to be the best??
The Dann Corbit complied version of Amy, Phalanx,Colchess,Crafty etc and you are working on a port for Gully?
Hmm..What would we Windows using, single PC winboard users do without you?

I'm surprised you haven't come up with your own chess engine yet..Or have you?

Someone else would do it. Actually, I have ported at least twice that many.
I am working on one. Actually, I have been doing that for about four years now. However, i's not really even functional yet. I am doing a lot of strange things in it. Time will tell if my ideas will work out or not. The name of the program will be "bean counter."

With any luck, playing it'll be like the campfire scene from "Blazing Saddles"

Not a chance. I will be worse than Bruce Moreland. I probably won't even demonstrate it until I think it can beat everything, which probably means never!

I enjoy Bruce's not releasing Ferret. I like seeing people every month or so trying to talk him into it, and his reaction always basiclly amounts to something resembling "Yeah, I don't think so. I don't feel like it". And then a month later, you see another post "Where can I download Ferret" or "Where can I get a Ferret Demo?"
So the entertainment value of people not being able to get a copy is just enormous, I hope he never releases it because I'd miss that.
