Well, another fun, exciting and interesting night was had by all...
Congratulations go again to Peter McKenzie with Warp winning a 3 way playoff for 1st place against KnightCap (Andrew Tridgell) and Desperado (David Blackman).
As usual there were some upsets and a little misfortune. Joel Veness (Bodo) had a few crashes but was able to continue on his (slower) laptop. Very nerve wracking for him at a time when he'd rather be drinking Strongbow and enjoying the games.
Desperado is not a newcomer. David Blackman has been participating in the NC3 right from its first beginnings. It was good to see him back and in good form. Hopefully, he will let Desperado compete in more tournaments in future.
Its late, so forgive my brain fade and probable spelling mistakes...
As for Trace, I spent the day implementing checks in qsearch (because Joel said it was a good idea (!!) but couldn't quite debug enough to be confident it wouldn't fall over with half an hour before the start. :-) So, I chickened out and ran the current beta instead... and drank a lot of beer.
CC in Australasia is alive and well - as you can see from the number of entries. Actually BlackKnight played in place of Chompster who unfortunately couldn't make it... so 14 entrants isn't bad at all. I think the main thing is we all had a good time and look forward again to next year.

14 +bimbo [1600] 0.0 [ 984] [ 0] -05b -06b -09w -13b -11b

Off the top of my head the playoff @ 3+2 went something like this.
KnightCap v Desperado 0-1
Desperado v Warp 0-1
Warp v KnightCap 1-0
Congratulations again to Peter, many thanks to Shaun Press and Andrew Tridgell for organising the event. Great stuff guys!
Best Regards,
Ross & Trace
