I had a bit of trouble getting averno 0.70 to set the hash right. I ended up deleting the top part of averno.per, so it starts with the hash, like so:
TABLA_HASH 128
TABLA_HASH_PEONES 4
NALIMOV_PATH c:\chess\tb
EGTB_CACHE_SIZE 8
ICS 0
I suppose this is correct, and that all the params that used to be in the per file will be set correctly by the engine.

Yes, that's correct. All non specified parameters are set by default by the engine.
All values related to hash are rounded by the engine so that it can do a simple & operation, so it is by powers of 2 of the size of the structs.

I was wrong, there isn't any problem. I must have messed up the original per file somehow. I'm starting a 2 round gauntlet, 40/25, Averno vs the AEGT rook/bishop classes tomorrow, will post results here in a few days.
