Which Uci protocol version does Shredder 8 support ?

I'd like to know Which Uci protocol version Shredder 8 supports.
I'd like to know if the protocol version has an impact when using Polyglot,
i.e if edit "uciversion=1" instead of "uciversion=2" in Polyglot.ini.

Hi François,
Shredder 8 supports uciversion 1; the newer "Shredder Classic" engine supports version 2.

Shredder 8 supports uciversion 1; the newer "Shredder Classic" engine supports version 2.

Because UCI-protocoll 1 and 2 are compatible there should be NO problem of using UCI-2 with Shredder 8 (as long as the implementation is ok there should be no problem of using UCI-2 as default protokoll for ANY UCI-engine!)

Ingo is correct.
This option should not be used unless strictly necessary.
It is actually a work around.
