Hey Leo,
Thanks (as always) for an excellent tournament. Also congratulations to
the programmers of Spike, and good luck to all the engines that qualified
for the promotion gauntlet. Overall, I wasn't too dissatisfied with Djinn's
performance. After all you have to expect a few nips when you swim with the
"bigger" fish!

If I understand Leo's expanded format correctly Djinn should be in the promotion tourney.

Thanks Tom, Djinn played a good tourney IMHO!
Hi Dan,
IF I go to the new format I have in mind it will be 24 or 22 engines/division, running 4RR with 22 engines = 88 days where 24 engines is 18 days longer and I am affraid 106 days is just to long?
In case of 22 engines/division it will be something like:
Current: New:
Premier 20 22 = 2 more eng = 2 prom from 1st minus new engines
1st Div 18 22 = 6 more eng = 6 prom from 2nd minus new engines
2nd Div 18 22 = 10 more eng = 10 prom from 3rd minus new engines
3rd Div 18 22 = 14 more eng = 14 prom from 4th minus new engines
4th Div 18 32 = 28 more eng = 22 prom from 5th + 6 from 6th minus new engines
5th Div 22 ? = all remaining engines
Only promotion tourneys for 1st to Premier and maby 2nd to 1st then because there are very much "promotions" already!?
The biggest problem at the moment is to get one more dual before half october.
Idee's about the setup above?
Best wishes,
Leo.

With so many good engines and new and improved ones coming daily I like the expanded divisions. But the time is also an issue. With the cycles like they are, engines like Spike have a long wait before they see action again. Fewer promotion tourneys seems a logical way to shorten the cycle - in these "short" tournaments there is a lot of luck as to who goes up or down.
Leo, looks like you just need more computers :) But however you decide, your tournaments are great and enjoyed by so many. Keep up the good work.
Best Regards.

That will change with the setup above because then all divisions will play at the same moment with only one month between the editions where the new engine qualify's and promotion tourneys can be played.
I am working on that, it seems only very hard to get the processors I want at the moment :(
Best wishes,
Leo.
