Just rename it Mike

Maybe your extensions for known file types are hidden?
My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View
Remove tick in box for 'Hide extensions for known file types'
.txt with now appear on end of file. Rename now to .rc

If nothing else works, you can still run cmd, go to your Crafty folder and type "rename crafty.rc.txt crafty.rc".

If you used notepad to create crafty.rc it will create crafty.rc.txt. To get around getting the ".txt" extension when you save there are two ways:
(1) when saving crafty.rc enclose the filename in quotes as: "crafty.rc"
or
(2) when saving crafty.rc select Save as type: All Files
