Hello all,
I am writing a brief message to let you know that I am alright.
The essential services have been restored and the country is gradually returning to normal.
Ivan was terrible indeed...
My family and I are safe - the young man slept through the entire storm. I am so proud of him. His mother was a true trooper.
Some persons want flashlights. Some persons want a generator. Some persons want a water tank. I just need my wife in a crisis. She is superb.
Thanks Volker and Dann for your sentiments.
Thanks to all of you who were concerned.
I am back.
The Forum may never be the same....evil laugh fading.....
:-)
Later.
Roger Brown

Hi Roger,
Good to hear you and your family are safe and sound.
I imagine it was an experience you will never forget.
Very scary!
Best wishes,
Ross & Tracey (the only time it gets windy here is after eating peas)

Hi Roger
Glad to hear you are ok. I live close to the Alabama border, just west of Birmingham. We were hit by the western edge of Ivan. Even this far inland, and only on the edge of the storm path, it was still scary, with winds up to 65 mph. Other than some tree damage, and without power for 24 hours, i came through it ok. I sympathize with anyone that suffered a direct hit by Ivan.
Regards
Dave
