Some news about H. Secelle (author of Bionic)

Postby Johan Havegheer » 08 Sep 1999, 19:03

Hello,
After more than 3 months off complete silence, Hans has mailed me today
with some very important news.
He will not compete with his Bionic (crafty version) at the Dutch Computer
Chess Championship. I think that Bionic is dead now.
All Crafty clones like Bionic, voyager etc... will be excluded from participation at the Dutch computer championship because Mr Diepenveen (DIEP)
has officialy protested against these programs.
But .... Hans is now a very good friend of Tom Vijlbrief, and they are working
together now to make a strong combination from ANT and BIONIC.
I think i will have a lot of testing to do with this program, so my tournement
could be delayed for a while.

Hello Johan,
yes this is right, but Bionic Impakt and Voyager are not complete Crafty Clones. Voyager is an experimentel private engine and Gabi Müller (programmer) will make many experiments before she writing an strong engine.
The combination Ant/Bionic is interesting. I see Tom and Hans in Leiden 99 and I will ask the programmer what is new ...
So, I will writing over this new projekt.
In Leiden we must drinking an beer and talking over computerchess :-)
The Dutch Open is from ...
week 1: 30./31.Oktober
week 2: 6./ 7.November
Kind regards
Frank
