Yes and someone in CCC claimed that it was beating commericals using 3 mins per game mode, 20 games per match..
So is Yace designed for Lightning time controls?
Anyway I must say the second version seems much better ..The first yace i ran at 5 mins per game, won only 1/4 against Amy..Now it won 5 in a row before losing 1, now it's +6-1 in favor of YACE

Yace is until now only tuned against the 300 win at chess positions.
Because most of those are really easy, and for tuning I used small
time controls (or something like nodes=300k), this may make Yace
strong in Blitz. Against a crippled version of crafty (no end game tables,
no learning, the same book with the same options, the same memory for
hash tables), it was quite even. Until now, I don't have any other engines
to test.
I of course hope, that the first real games give me the opportunity,
to strengthen Yace for longer time controls. I also have the suspicion,
that it plays better with black. Perhaps, I'll find some obvious bug,
or after a few more games, this suspicion will dissolve.
Best wishes,
Dieter

Yes..Using crafty with learning and TBS, Crafty leads Yace barely just 6-4
And only a handful can hold crafty like that..

You can try downloading some of the 40+ free engines here..Try Amon509 , Yace seems to be finding it a little tough to play..

I like the way Yace plays The siciliand defence..
