I'm releasing a new version of Freyr.
Actually it's the code from about 2 months ago, to which I've added some improvements from Freyr2 (a rewritten version of Freyr faster & better on which I'm working those days, not yet to be released) : better quiescence, futility pruning eliminated, better null-move.

I've Panda Antivirus, shareware version 6.18.00.

Hello,
What are the effects of this virus ?
Thanks...
No idea... sorry.

If I recall, its a polymorphing something or other. I know that it hides itself in the spaces in the file structure, so that the file size actually doesn't grow. This was why it was so hard for the viri dectors to find it when it first came on the scene. I also belive it sent itself out as an attachment to everyone on your mailing list. This attachment was called happy99.exe and showed a little fireworks display. If I recall, it infects the FAT, and potentially can damage that. I know I got it once and found out I had it due to the fact that one of my programs suddenly decided that it was pirated. (This was awhile ago.) There are worse ones to get, but like any virus, left unchecked it could be quite damaging.
