is the %fics prompt removable

Postby Dave Acevedo » 22 May 2013, 21:32

A fellow at FICS is desirous of removing the %fics after every server output to the console. I thought I remember that this was modifiable but have since forgot. Does anyone know how to change that server output to an empty line. Actually it is the use of the space that is the most important issue for this user. He says other GUIs do not have it. Regards Dave

You can set the prompt to an empty string, although I forgot the ICS command (set prompt ?). But WinBoard would not work properly when the prompt does not end in a % sign, as it scans for such prompt to detect the end of multi-line commands (such as move lists and seek ads) that do not explicitly contain a terminating line.

Thank you. Yes I seem to remember a command with prompt in it somewhere. Help is not available for the word Prompt nor could I find anything under Style. I will experiment with set prompt. Thank you
