Hello, I am using the xboard 4.40alpha6 version with openbox 3.4.8rc1 as the window manager, and it seems that the interface cannot be focused, although i can still access it, such as move it around, exit, play a game, I am not able to access any child windows xboard makes, such as "Load Position..."
I also tested this on xfwin4, the xfce manager, and it seems to show the same problem. How can I fix this? Thanks for reading.

Switch off "Desktop Effects".
Due to a wrong way of compiling (mentioning the Xaw and Xt libraries in the wrong order) the XBoard in this package has become incompatible with Compiz. (None of the developers uses that, so we did not notice.)
An alternative is to download the beta1 source from the GNU repository and install that from source (or use the xboard_4.4.0~hgm-2_i386.deb package from my website if you can use that architecture). These contain the correct compilation method in the make tools, (or have been compiled with it.)

Ah thank, beta1 works perfectly, though I wasn't using compiz at all or any composting manager at all. Anyways, it works fine now, thanks alot.
