Feature Boardsetup

What would you think about the feature to add to winboard, where the board could be setup with the aid of keyboard-shortcuts?
For example when in the Edit Position mode, one could press the keys 0 to 10, one for each chess-piece, and while the key is pressed the user can click on the board with the left mouse button to select the target squares. This would speed up the process of for example placing a pawn chain on the board very much.
