[Administration] Time confusion

Postby Volker Pittlik » 06 Jul 2005, 11:13

Hello,

there has been some trouble reported that the time displayed in the forum are not GMT+2 but GMT+1.

There are three possible reasons for the resulting confusion:

1. The server time. The server time is GMT. I can't change it.

2. Your settings in your profile. You can choose the difference of your local time to GMT in your profile. (You have to change it every six month if you life in an area with daylight saving time.)

And possibly most confusing:

3.
The town of Greenwich does NOT follow Greenwich Mean Time during summer..." (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=769).

It would be better if the forum software didn't display "GMT" but "UTC" what would be less confusing. However, I can't change that too.

Regards

Volker

Anscheinend kommt durch die Sommerzeit einiges durcheinander

Aber es gibt schlimmeres... hoffentlch ist das unser gr??tes Problem! :D

Summertime,
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high

Your daddy's rich
And your mamma's good lookin'
So hush little baby
Don't you cry

Ja, vor allem weil Greenwich im Sommer nicht der GMT folgt.

A little problem.
The forum asks for password twice.
