Matthias - ChessGUI question

Postby Graham Banks » 17 Dec 2008, 23:26

Can I run two ChessGUI tournaments simultaneously on one computer by running exes from two separate folders?
If so, I guess the only restriction would be to use different engines in each tournament?

Regards, Graham.

Some engines do not mind running multiple times on the same machine, even in the same directory. (e.g. micro-Max) You have to be careful with engines that write files in their own directory. (e.g. Joker) Just to be sure I make a copy of its install directory when I want to run it twice.

Hi HG,

yes - I always run separate engine folders for each GUI that I use, but some engines still don't like being run twice.

Cheers, Graham.

Hi Graham,
that is surely possible. I have never tried it though
Best,
Matthias.

Okay. I might try it soon. I'm sick of KRvKR type positions playing out to the 50 move rule under the Shredder GUI. :x
