The author is member of this forum and might as well answer your questions here.

He was having trouble with his password lately, but hopefully the issue is fixed now.

hi elorejano,
hash table is experimental and not working well
to set up it
- compile butterfly with HASH_MODE enabled, see https://sites.google.com/site/butterfly ... to-compile
- run butterfly -hash32 or -hash64 or -hash128 or -hash512
example: butterfly -hash128

Hi Giuseppe,

Everyday or so there is a new version of Butterfly. When do you think it will be a stable version of it?

Carlos

To all engine authors,

Please continue to make your improvements on your OWN schedule and release as you see fit.

Those of us who then derive enjoyment from using your hard work for free will appreciate that you are putting out the best version that you are capable of. Do not in any way feel inhibited in how you release your labours for our consumption. The world will not stop if a test is started with one version and continued with another.

Do it your way dear engine author.

Please.

Just in case there are any other similar posts....

Later.

Hi Roger,

I think you misunderstood me or maybe my english is not good enough. :D

I was not being rude (at least that was not my intention). I was just asking (not demanding) if he has an idea when there will be a stable version to test. Nothing more, nothing less. I was not complaining. How would I do that? I know these engines are for free and I thank the authors of ALL these engines for their hard work that most of us enjoy.

Carlos

Hello Carlos,

I am happy to read the above.

I guess that I am sensitive about this issue because it has caused at least one author to alter his release pattern in response to a really rude post - not yours!!

Your english is definitely good enough.

I am a bit of a miserable sort without my early morning hug so all is O.K.

:-)

Now where is that engine I downloaded?

Later.

Hi Roger,

I understand your concern and I hope Giuseppe hasn't got offended by my post. As I explained above, I was just curious if he had an ETA about a more stable version of his program (which I expect to include in the 9th and last cycle of my tournament.) It seems he is fixing some bugs and that is great. He can release any version of his engine whenever he wants to, of course.

I think all of us have had those days. No hard feelings from my side. :)

Regards,
Carlos
