Winboard engines?

Postby GiorgosK » 15 Dec 2016, 17:28

Hi! :D

I'm usually using XBoard at Debian and I'm installing all necessary files from repositories ar compiling from source.
However, this time I need installing (after many years) Winboard at Windows (10 x64), so I have this question:

Since I'm not satisfied with Fruit (abandoned and with last version lost), I was searching for suitable engines (open source or freeware, but with binaries), for using with Winboard.

What I found is a really outdated Crafty version, on an abandoned project (only 32-bit): http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/,
and a relatively new GNU Chess version that comes with Red Hat's Cygwin https://www.redhat.com/services/custom/cygwin/.
(Somehow the other Cygwin, does not work at Win 10).

I'm satisfied with GNU Chess (open source, comes with x64 binary, under development, recent binary version), but I'll ask anyway! :D
Does someone know any other chess engines (compatibles with Winboard, no source only, no trial - commercial, preferably x64 build)?
TIA! :D

GNU Chess 6 is a re-branded Fruit 2.1. You could use Stockfish.

In fact I host a pre-configured package with the latest WinBoard beta version and a Stockfish fork, at http://hgm.nubati.net/WinBoard-AA.zip .
