It looks strong,
(won a 10 game match vs. List512 at 1min/game+1sec/move;
yes, I know, bad bad time ).
No comment from me, but I hope it is a nice clean surprise just before christmas.

Note that I understand that it was standard chess but both list and LordKing come with no opening book so I do not see the point of playing with them with no opening book so nunn match type(or different predefined opening positions) make more sense to test them.

Hello Pablo,
Franz already gave the link to the useful tool 7zip,
there should be no problem, if you install it in addition to the compression tool you have currently in use, I use even 7zip only today;
the only real disadvantage i noticed the last time when i checked the features was
that it could not repair broken archives, but this is rarely needed
and might be different in the latest version.
@ Graham:
Well, I dont know yet, but a first little test at 1 min bullet games without increment
gave the following ranking:
1. caiozzz 15/29
2. serafinus 14,5/29
3. light 14,5/29
4.quartax 14/29
Looks like there is no really weak version, and Carlo will certainly give some hint at some time in the future.
@ Uri:
it was the caiozzz personality that played the first 10 games and took the lead with 5,5 : 4,5 after ten games.
Any engine that can win a ten game match against List 512 is strong imho,
but of course I did not say that it is better than List 512, I just did not. Did I?
Later List won more games and was ahead of LK, guess it was 20:12 when i stopped.
But I have a feeling as if more serious games are needed
Fine that your movie is so strong now and can win against LK ...
And what opening positions:
it was standard chess, no frc or fischer random or whatever variant.
But seriously: my post was just a little hint, no tournament report.
@ Franz:
thx for the many useful hints you gave in the past, keep up the good work!
@ Everybody:
Merry Christmas (or at least dont feel insulted if you dont care about christmas)
and many thx for all the pleasure you gave.

After descompressing the LordKing2006 engines with your help, I try to play with them at Winboard, but the engines did not make any move nor read the opening books used with version 4.0 and also they apparentlydid not read the old Lordking.cfg file . Please tell me what I am doing wrong now. I do not use any parameter at the winboard.ini command line and I am using Windows98SE operating system.
Best wishes,
Pablo

Hello Pablo,
this version of LordKing is no Winboard-engine, it uses the UCI-protocol!
So the best will be running it under Arena (in UCI mode of course).
Regards,
Franz.
