PRODEO PERSONALITY

Postby Rozens » 29 Jul 2006, 10:15

Hi all!

I would like to ask for some help about personality settings within ARENA, for this Prodeo 1.1.

I would like to know where the personality .eng files to be directed/plkaced inside Arena.

For the moment I just use the ini-file direction tabel, but I cant see any difference trying when analyzing/playing with difference personality.

Questions.:
1.Does this Prodeo personality works inside Arena, and how to do it ?
2. Which parameter do I have to state to change the hash amount (-hash 16 ?)

Thank for your always fine assistances

Kind Regards
Rozens

All this stuff is in the readme as usual.
Just add the hash parameter and the personality file
as commandline arguments in the engine management.

Guenther

From the readme:
Code: Select all

You can increase (or decrease) the Hash Table size by changing...

Program = prodeo.exe w7 rebel.eng

  into:    w1, w2,w3,w4,w5,w6,w7,w8 or w9

           w1=512Kb | w2=  4Mb | w3= 12Mb | w4= 24Mb | w5=40Mb
           w6= 60Mb | w7=100Mb | w8=200Mb | w9=400Mb

...

. You can turn off Rebel's opening book by removing the ";" character
  from the parameter:     ; InitString = BookOff/n

Thank you Guenter...

You have to know that Im a chessplayer, and not a programmer...;)

I dont fully understand yet because my commandline looks like this...C:\prodeo11\ProDeo\prodeo.exe

If I try to put this "Prodeo.exe v7 rebel.eng to either the commandline or commandline options, then the engine wont start..

Please guide me a little more precicely...thank in advance!
Rozens

Notice!
Im using Prodeo as an winboard engine not UCI, whic is more complicated for me.

Thank you Volker...I see the differrence..

But it only work when writing the following command in the "commandline options"....w7 Rebel.eng

Placing Prodeo.exe = in front of w7 Rebel.eng...wont work.

Still Im not sure that the prodeo.exe use the personality file...how can I check ?

Thanks in advance!

Of course, because the example from the readme is _generally_
and for all GUIs. Arena just separates the exe from the commandline arguments in its management.
