PolyGlot & WB2UCI Adapter question.

Postby Dominik D'Souza » 07 Feb 2007, 07:47

Hello,I am Glad to get to this forum :-)
I had a doubt in my mind if using UCI engine under Winboard using a polyglot or using a Winboard engine in UCI only GUI make the original engine lose its strength or it has no effet on engine strength??
I ask this because I am planning to run a tournament & wish all engine to be at their respective bests.

Thanks
Domo

Hypothetical yes because it needs some time to "translate" the UCI commands to Winboard commands. But this amount of time is so small that I'm not sure if it can be detected experimentally or have an influence of the outcome of a game.

In thousands of games I have neither observed something like that nor I have heard of any results which demonstrate such an effect.
