I don't think the 'Big Book' is the strongest, as it has more lines, it includes bad lines. I can recall Rebel so called "Super Book", a book made after years of research by Jeroen Neomen (sp?) but even a Big Tweaked book including only the strongest lines like it, only had 'good' lines that humans and history theory thought were the best, but when Rebel uses them, some let Rebel with +12 or so, and after 5 moves Rebel is at -40. You are not beating rebel, you are beating it's book.

Most strongest Books (Called 'Tournament Books') have only the very very strongest lines (Like only d4 or e4 for white, and best answers from black to that and anything else), and I'm making one for crafty with le creme de la creme (sp?) moves (900 and rising), those moves that let Crafty winning always.

I imagine that there will be a higher proportion of duplicate games (Crafty learns quite well) using your approach - not a criticism, just an observation.

Dann Corbit has a Crafty tournament book on his site. Perhaps you could test it against your book.

I like to make my Book public already (And update it each 100 new moves or so), but have no space on the net to upload it. (Other Forums allow you to upload files...)

Of course with my book, the opening repertorie of Cratfy is pretty limited, for example, it only plays the Queen Gambit's with white, because it gives it a score of +15, while the Ruy Lopez gives it a +14 score and everything else even low socores.

I can post the PGN used to create the book! (With instructions of how to create it).

I've tested the book just for fun, and with krafty ranper 0 46 (That weakens Crafty), starting with 2500 ELO it ended:

Howdy Roger,

Since it's in its Beta stage, I'd like only to release it for small group of persons, so they can test it and tell me the bugs they found (Since they may have a much better hardware than my Pentium 900 128 RAM, their Crafties are much stronger than mine).

Also, this book is based on the Crafty 19.XX Classic 2004 version, that beated every other version in my computer in 1/10 time control. But the other crafties may be stronger on other variables.

And I've only tested: Version 19.3 exe from Original FTP site, 19.17 from Dann Corbit, 19.17 Special Edition SSDF, 19.17 SE PB, 19.17 SE PB Update Capablanca (Which is the weakest), and the Classic 2004. (For some reason the 19.3 is very strong by itself). And haven't tested the 64-bit version by Slater Wold that may be stronger (It's just below Ruffian 2.1.0).

How to ask for help for Beta testers? (If it is possible).

Right now, it only has openings played against it from various other engines I have (And from humans/computers over the internet), and for some reason, even without book, Pharaon has beaten them all.
