Chess Master and Winboard?

Postby Ulysses Omycron » 16 Dec 2004, 07:27

I'd want to know how to use Chessmaster 10th/9000 with their personalityes in winboard since I got 85 Prodeo personalityes that can be "Translated" to ChessMaster (Or any engine that allows Personalities), if there are some worth mentioning once I can test, I will post the settings.

Thank you.

About the next post: This forums doesn't let a user to delete their posts, which will be useful for situations like this, this look like a "Look! this n00b (Me in this case) posted this!! We won't let him delete it and we will quote him just in case he edits his post!" hunting. I really like Winboard, and this forum, but the overrestrictions let a lot to be desired.

Re: The Fritz GUI?

Ulysses Omycron wrote:Hi, I bought Fritz 8, mainly because I heard of the GUI it has, and I wanted to see it (And get a very strong program in the way).

But there's no Fritz GUI! There's only a ChessProgram8.exe that looks like Chessbase... Is this the infamous Fritz GUI or it comes with older Fritz versions?

Thank you for reading.

Note: The history repeated itself when I bought Shredder 8... The same problem! I mean, program! Chessprogram8 has the kewl analisys option, but I wanted to see some Shredder GUI in action... So we only have Winboard, Arena, Chessbase and ChessMaster GUIs?

Hello Ulysses,

I am perhaps the least tolerant of the moderators here.

This is the Winboard Forum.

Some latitude is allowed particularly since this Forum has one of the greatest single concentrations of chess authors.

Your captioned topic is off-topic.

There is next to zero Winboard content in your post. That is not desirable.

Your post would be better addressed to the CCC or a similar forum which could address your problems.

Please assist us in making this forum relevant to Winboard.

Thank you.

Later.

Hello Roger,

I changed the topic's issue, but let me just ask you, if I just changed the topic's tittle to something like: "What GUIs we have besides Winboard?", and changed just the order of the words/paragraphs in the post, would it make it more "Far from zero Winboard related"?

Thanks if you answer.

Note: I really appreciate if I'd get PMed for stuff like this. Making it public, when most of the members are not very interested in reading things like that and when Private Messagind me costs the same effort, confuses me.

If you prefer private messages I wonder why you don't use them. In addition I severly doubt you know what most of the members are interested in.

*I* know for sure I got some complaints about you. In additon I read you have promised us

- an engine
- a high quality book made out of only 1000 games
- a "book base"
- an outstanding tournament
- to solve chess.

All this within 23 posts. I think there are three possibilities:

1) You are a genius
2) You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about
3) You are trolling.

To make a decision what to do with you I tend to apply Occam's Razor on this problem. This makes option 3) most likely and I tend to do what is announced in the Readme for this case.

So this is the last warning: feel free to post here as long as you stay on-topic and behave as it is usual here. (In doubt just read this forum a while before you post again). If you faile you will be banned.

Volker
