Test suite "WM-Test" - results of 308 engines

Postby Manfred Meiler » 12 Feb 2005, 20:51

Hello,

I've made an update of my excel sheet with the detailed results of now 308 (versions of) engines in the test suite "Weltmeister-Test" (WM-Test) - including many WinBoard/UCI engines.
You can find the free download file "WM-Test.zip" (1,7 mb) at http://www.computerschach.com/ (look at "Community / Downloads --> Partien / Teststellungen").

The test suite "WM-Test" includes 100 test positions from games of the different (human) chess world champions:
38 positions in King attack, 36 positions in positional playing and 26 positions in endgame.

Of course I've added a collection of the 100 test positions in the formats cbh, cbf, pgn and epd; to all test positions there are variations and comments (in german) for better understanding the goals of the single position.

Test conditions:
Each of the 100 test positions was tested 20 minutes in analyse mode, without access to opening books, but with access to endgame databases (Nalimov tablebases, complete 3/4/5 pieces), mostly with 256 mb hash. Used hardware: AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1400 mhz.

Since my last published Excel sheet (2004 July, with 260 engines) the following engines (among others) were tested by me:

- Shredder 9 UCI (default and Gambit)
- Junior 9 and Deep Junior 9
- Fritz 8 Bilbao
- Gandalf 6.0 (default and Gambit)
- Triple Brain Shredder 9 UCI + Gandalf 6.0
- Chess Tiger 2004 (Normal, Gambit, Gambit agressive)
- Chessmaster 10th Edition (The King 3.33) and CM10k Schumacher (Setting)
- Pro Deo 1.1 and 1.0 (default), Pro Deo 1.0 (Q3 setting), Pro Deo 1.0 (S&D 6.7 setting)
- Pharaon 3.1
- Fruit 2.0
- Crafty 19.15 (CB)
- The Baron 1.5.0
- Delfi 4.5
- AnMon 5.50
- Jonny 2.75
- Slow Chess Blitz
- Glaurung 0.1.7
- Little Goliath Revival 1.0.0.14
- Spike 0.7
- DanChess 1.07
- Arasan 8.1
- WildCat 4.0
- Naum 1.4
- The Crazy Bishop 0052 (WB)
- Ufim 5.01
- Ant v2005-C
- Hermann 1.1.6
etc.

For using this test suite "WM-Test" and to avoid misunderstandings/misinterpretations of the test suite and/or my test results I strongly recommend to look at the included "readme.txt".

Regards,
Manfred
