MSCP 1.6 under WB(no thinking lines?)

Postby Guenther Simon » 27 Feb 2005, 14:29

Hi Jim,

Do you know that MSCP doesn't show his thinking anymore
under Winboard?
I guess it is because of the format of its output without
a space between the number and the move or something similar,
which is not expected by WB?
BTW what is that number in front of the move?

Regards,
Guenther

Hi Guenther,

I've messed around with the output to get
it displaying under Arena. I didn't test it in Winboard,
but I'll try to fixed it in the next update.

Thanks for the info.

Jim.

Hello Jim Ablett,

Cough, cough.

You made a modification to a Winboard engine and did not test the effect of the change in Winboard?

Oh my ga......

:!:

Heh, thanks for revitalising this engine. Just what the amateur ranks needs, another developer for weaker ( no disrespect intended at all) engines.

Later.

Hi Roger,

To be honest, I only ever touch Winboard is when
Leo tells me somethings not working for him. No
disrespect to Winboard, I just like having those
little engine logos displayed in the right-hand corner.
Now if someone could modify Winboard to display
logos, I'd be a happy man. :D

Regards,
Jim.

Hello Jim,

Have a look at Alex WBTM. The logos float but you could put them anywhere, even in the right hand corner if you like.

As for not touching Winboard, well, to each his own. A rock solid gui that is very kind on my modest computer resources and can be used to play with all my favourite WB and UCI engines is what does it for me.

:D
