About Alfil book..

Hi to all!
Any Alfil?s books works for me.
Duron 800, Win98 SE, 128 Mb RAM
Any ideas? In the author?s page say that Alfil use the 407 version book, but dont work.

Works in UCI mode with Arena, sometimes. Opening book support still seems to be a bit flaky, probably better to use Bookthinker with Winboard (not tested) until bugs are ironed out.

1.) Alfil does not use his book as WB under WB.
2.) Alfil crashes as UCI/Polyglot under WB after 1.d4 Nf6 as White,
because it tries to perform the move a1a1.
Otherwise it seems to work ok with book in that mode.

To make Alfil to use his book as WB add following parameters to respective Alfil winboard.ini command line:
"/firstInitString="new\nrandom\nbk\n"

Hi Pablo,

Thanks that works, but as the above described 2nd bug
is in the opening book and will happen very frequently, I will
refrain from using its opening book at all.
