Missing logos and WBEC info pages of some winboard engines

Postby Pablo » 12 Jan 2005, 16:37

For Leo Dijksman and David Dahlem
Happy New Year for both !!! :D

For Leo:Looking at WBEC engines info pages I found, that the info pages of Arics and El Turco are still missing. Maybe you do not have still enough information of them.

For David: Based in your great cooperation creating engines logos I dare to inform you the following engines do not have still any logo Arics,Arion,Latista,The Sultan and Witz, and maybe you can gentily design them.

Best regards,
Pablo

Witz Chess Engine

I think it will take them a long time to update those pages. I sent in a request to change the programmers for Witz on the page two weeks ago and they haven't changed it :). Lol I guess we just have to wait.

Hi Pablo

Sorry, but i'm very busy working on a new engine project, and at this time don't have the incentive to make logos for other engines.

Hi,

Can you please update the Witz Chess Engine Info? I (Pradu) am the sole
programmer of Witz.

Thank You,

Jim, thanks for taking the time to make a logo for Latista, it was something I'd like eventually but haven't gotten around to yet. Eventually I'd like to make a Roman themed logo, as the word latista comes from a latin term for someone who manages gladiators, which I thought was an appropriate name for a chess engine.

Hi Eric,

I've had another crack at it with a more 'Gladiatorial' theme.

Image

A bit better than the first.

Jim.

Jim, now THAT is a cool looking logo!

I recreated the zip file on my website to include latista's new logo, And I'll send it to Leo also. I updated the readme as well.

Thanks a TON!

Eric

PS. do you have the original helmet image you used to create that logo? if so it would be neat to have it so that someday when I get around to creating a "themed" webpage for latista I can continue to use that helmet.

Hello Pradu,

'Witz' is German for 'Joke' I believe, so
here's a logo for it with a laughing joker.

I had to use wb to uci adapter to successfully run under Arena,
also the other version of your program 'Eire' seems to be of
comparable strength to 'Danasah' at least at short time controls (40-5-0).

Jim.

I thought I'd have another go at creating a classier 'Witz' logo.
The first one scared me too much!
