Hi,
Spike 0.9 is finally availiable for download. It is the same version that played at IPCCC in paderborn. We think that Spike 0.9 has much improved compared to Spike 0.8, in our tests it is about 70 Elo better.
Now Spike 0.9 has more pruning and more chess knowledge. The interface support for UCI has improved it now supports some of the new UCI 2.0 commands. It still supports both, winboard and UCI.There are new winboard and UCI options for controlling the search of spike. If you test spike and like to publish the results anywhere, please publish any changed settings too.
Spike is free and availiable for download at http://spike.lazypics.de. There is a new version of SpikeConfig too, the interface to the configuration file. The BookBuilder of spike hasn?t changed, neither has the spike book format.
Spike will now also be available in the future setups of the Arena Chess-GUI
Greetings and have fun with spike
Ralf & Volker
