Amateur keeps rollin' + subtle bug in Spike (thrilling game)
Posted: 30 Mar 2005, 15:29
Spike had a lot of pressure and the better game,
but somehow the game turned around move 45-50.
Both reached a highly interesting endgame with
2N vs. P (both don't use tablebases) and an opposite
approach, because obviously Amateur does not know
that 2N alone 'normally' cannot mate, when Spike
'assumes' 2N never mate.
Amateur often accidently could avoid taking the last pawn
by just one iteration and finally found the mate!
In the end finally Spike made a wrong draw claim according
to its wrong knowledge, when actually mate in 1 was going
to be delivered! (Result will be corrected of course)
