I do not know of any careful test to figure out if any crafty book is better than some other book.
Here is one I made:
ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/chess-engines/n ... t-Book.zip
I cannot say if it is better or worse than any others.
It would be nice to see a careful contest which compares this book with others to discover which books really do perform the best.
Thanks to Dann

Hello Dann
have download the book you post. In my tournament blitz 40/5 div2 Crafty 19.19 played cause of my mistake without book and scored 21,5 points from 68 games (last place). Now the games were replayed with book - actuell there are 30,0 points from 57 games. When div2 is finished I will post the result here

If I remember right the learning file of crafty is a lot more important than the book(books all three heh).
updating the learning helps a lot.
But to answer you the book that the Professor has on his site are the ones
he made for crafty but he also gives you instruction on building your own if you like to perfect it to your tastes
Dave has one that is a little stronger as he used higher rated players games?

There are many books for crafty (including the one that I made).
As far as I know, there are exactly zero studies to find out which one is best.

My crafty book has learning incorporated into it.
As for learning files, crafty learning files created at very slow time control should be fine. I cannot get at mine right now, because that machine is down.
