My existence

I have not read email for several years. I am going to start reading it again.

Thanks to Thomas Mayer for fixing/updating/owning epd2wb while I have been absent.

Apologies to Thomas Mayer and others for ignoring emails. Please nobody should take it personally. I haven't been ignoring selectively, I have been ignoring generally.

For future reference, anyone who wants to do *anything* to epd2wb or Gerbil that doesn't involve ...

1) Not crediting me as author,
2) Making tons of money with them,

... shouldn't bother asking me if you can do it. The answer is always yes.

In specific, I don't want people entering Gerbil in tournaments under some other name. Anything else I don't really care about. The stuff is there to use. Please use it.

Hi, Bruce

Nice to hear, you're alive!

But some years ago, ... there was a chess-engine (not Gerbil) made by you. I forgot the name ... But it was a nono in the community to ask you about it ...- And nowadays?

A little bit shy ...

You speak of Ferret.
It was an elite engine.

I think Bruce has mostly lost interest in computer chess.

He is the best chess programming teacher I ever saw. If he wrote a book, I would definitely buy it.

Ferret was always private, but has also had a high profile.

It did very will in several computer chess contests and also on FICS.
