jose Chess Database 1.4.1

Postby Peter Schäfer » 14 Jan 2006, 19:29

Hello,

Jose Chess Database version 1.4.1 is available for download from:

http://jose-chess.sourceforge.net/index_download.html

Jose features now a UI opening book.

It can read book files in the Polyglot and Crafty formats
(and, of course, engines can have their own book files).

As usual, downloads are available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

Have fun,
Peter

Hi Peter,

Wow I never expected this sort of thing to happen, though the format is of course open!

I have a somewhat bad news: PolyGlot 1.4 (to be released today) internally uses the KxR notation for castling moves, which affects slightly the book format. I could have prevented this change but I simply did not think of it in time ...

If Jose handles Chess960 I guess this should not really be a problem for you.

Fabien.

King captures Rook, so for example the typical king castle could be notated as e1h1 (as opposed to the more usual notations e1g1 or O-O).

you're right, this shouldn't be a problem.

Can we expect new features in Polyglot 1.4 ?

Peter
