JanWillem 1.09

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to announce that there is a new version of JanWillem (1.09) available.

This version is mostly about cleaning the code, but there are a few other improvements.

- JanWillem has a bigger, though not necessarily better, openingbook.
- JanWillem should be less random now, in theory that means that it should be slightly better;-)
- in JanWillem.ini you can now alter the size of the hashtable.

This last improvement didn't have much effect om my 128MB PIII with multiple mozilla windows running concurrently and short time controls, but I expect that it might make a difference on faster PC's with more memory on longer time controls.
The default value in JanWillem.ini is 12, which should correspond to about 8MB hash (though it might even be 16 if I miscalculated). Increasing this number by one should effectively double the hashsize. Thus:

11 should be about 4MB hash
12 should be about 8MB hash
13 should be about 16MB hash
14 should be about 32MB hash usw.

I hope you will enjoy JanWillem 1.09.

I'm very interested in games JanWillem plays, so please message me when you include JanWillem in a tournament. Or when you find a bug!!!

Kind regards, Laurens Winkelhagen.

duh...
