CEGT ended

Hi all,
due to changes in his private life, Heinz wont have the time to continue the work with CEGT any longer.
A big project ends, a project, that was organised by Heinz with a tremendous quantum of work, passion and energy. The dream to be able to focus the power of computer chess fans to a unique form of teamwork has been realized. There is a great melancholy in me seeing a work ending, which combined the energy of so many enthusiastic testers.
Heinz sparked my interest in computerchess and I met many amiable people during my work with CEGT . I want to say thanks to any of them for giving their power for this project, for giving interest impulses to think about. A big "Thanks", too, to all those engine authors, who enriched the work with CEGT a lot with their contribution!
On the other side, I met a lot of hatred, jealousy and hypocrisy which lead to pain, emotional distress, quarrels. I had to realise, that the world of chessplayers I met in computerchess is a completely different one than the world of chessplayers I knew from my active time of playing tournament chess. Just look now...I find postings preverting the facts, speaking of "fail again", postings, that put sadness on but take the chance to see the possibility for advertisment for their work in the circumstance, that personal chances forces the end of a great work....this is not my world, this is not the place, where I want to pursue my hobby.
Heinz managed to lead a group of different testers over 2 years, he did not only do the amazing work to collect, check and update a sum of 120 000 games played in AEGT and CEGT but had also the ungraceful job to reduce all different wishes, opinions, preferences to a common denominator. All of you, who has any experience with teamwork should know what this means. As usual in computer chess, thank and feedback came scanty whilest the voices of envier and wisenheimers are loud.
It?s an effrontery to write about failure with all the tremendous work CEGT presented. It?s at least tasteless to ballyhoo others work in times of farewell.
Changes are not only sad, changes hold the possibility of new ideas, new energy, new experiences. I wish, that your changes will be good changes, Heinz. All the best for your new duties!
Thanks to all these of you, who made the work with CEGT joyful and pleasant!
