King's Out 0.2.40

Hello,

I added late move pruning and have done some minor changes to King's Out.
Downloadable from

http://www.fmi.uni-passau.de/~nuerberg/

Cannot say definitely whether it's stronger but it scored 16:14 against version 0.2.39 and scored 24:12 against Gullydeckel2 (0.2.39: 22.5:13.5).

Code: Select all
0.2.40      [May, 30th 2006]
    - cosmetic fix of search output
    - stop on mate score is disabled by default
    - bugfixes in move validation
    - some search parameters changes
    - late move pruning
    - some minor code changes
    - draw by insufficient material (two kings)
    - seems to be slightly stronger than 0.2.39

Greetings,

Bernd

Hi Jim,
Both executables failed to run on my computers (while the java version runs smoothly) under Win98 and Win XP.

"Exception occured during initialization" (WIN98-ME)

"JETPerfect: Incomplete .usg file. Extra usage list generated." (WIN2K-XP)

Regards,
Igor

Hi Igor,

Sorry you're having problems.

Executables tested working on my computers with these specs:

Win98/Me version:
Win98SE Fat32 file system / Athlon XP 3000 / 768mb mem

Xp/2k version:
XP Pro NTFS file system/ Athlon XP 3000 & 1.8/ 768mb mem

If you're running Win98 with Fat file system as opposed to Win98
with Fat32 you will have problems, also if you have less than 70gb free memory.

If you're running XP with Fat32 file system instead of NTFS
you will also have problems.

Win98 version won't run on Xp system and vice-versa.

Regards,
Jim

Sorry, of course I meant 70mb not 70gb!
