Thanks for the tip! I have tried it and it works with no
problems in WB. It even does learn, has an implemented
book(which can be disabled), seems to have a decent time
management and minimizes its own GUI, when started
under WB.
It is called QChess 1.02 alpha demo, because there also
exists(existed?) a full version, which costed 25$ in 2004.
I have no idea though what the differences would be to the
full version.
Yet I have also no clue about its playing strength, but a very
rough first guess would be, it's not too weak.
A pity though it doesn't display its thinking under WB but
only in its own GUI.

Welcome to the league of WB/UCI program finders ;-)

Regards,
Guenther

I have read this book in Russian. It looks like a bad translation of many English materials gathered from different internet forums... :(
Author did not even translate correctly the word "Queen" (in Russian it is "ферзь", not "королева")...

The book contains some interesting ideas on search (at least, they were new for me). But _nothing_ about evaluation :)
