Engine requests

Postby Tony Thomas » 31 May 2008, 19:18

I am back once again, this time I probably have the largest request ever. This would probably be the last time I request old engines, unless I disappear from computer chess scene and then come back again after few years. I have checked the former homepages of all these engines, Ursurper and Small C are the only ones that still got active sites. Ursurper download was deleted by the server and the Small C download is always corrupted. Please help me..I am asking for the latest versions of these by the way.

Thanks to Jimbo (Jim A) I got about 85% of the requested engines. Now I am missing only three from the list...

Chesscraft
Small C
Ursurper

Tony

By the way the ESC book file is corrupt for some reason...

Lucky you, I have found the 3 missing ones, they are now in your mailbox.

The last winboard version of InmiChess is 3.05

Trading by e-mail public engines that are not available anymore is OK. Offering them for download or distributing them on a DVD is another thing. It would be probably illegal without permission of the authors.

Why would I be saving them to a DVD? 90% of them are still available for download for free, and the others you can request just like I did. As long as people like Jim, Oliver, the other Tony, Mircea are around, you will get them. Now that I have almost every engine, you can get them from me too provided that they are the free ones.

Thanks for your reply Tony. Nice that you have them and would be
willing to share them. How many do you have now.
I have many myself and don/t use them now so i stored them on
dvd so not to lose them
Someone posted about 100 of them in the old forum 3 or 4 years ago
for download at his site.

Best to you,

Gerold.

I think that the number of engines I have is about 440 (not counting different versions)..I guess it would be a nice idea to have a back up, but I am too lazy to do that..
