Thinker analysis line

Hi Kerwin,

Under Arena Thinker output in the analysis line looks like this:

e7-e5
16 00:08 18.070.131 2.340.690 +0,45 e7e5 g2g3 b8c6

It seems there is a newline between the move and the rest of the data which may be the reason why Arena does not save evaluation, time and depth in the PGN file it creates.

If this is indeed the reason, could you please find a cure?

Cheers,

The reason is that Thinker sends its single and only PV info _after_
the move and it should send it before or together with the move IIRC.
(thus it is also not saved in WB pgn files)

Yes, however, I can't see why the PV should be in a separate line.

And, look at this game which I played against Thinker under WB. WB did save Thinker's evaluation, depth and time (oddly, not for its 1st move)! :o

[Event "Thinker 1"]
[Site "LUCIFER"]
[Date "2009.01.08"]
[Round "-"]
[White "cicus"]
[Black "Inert-Thinker_54A-x64"]
[Result "0-1"]
[TimeControl "40/155"]
[Annotator "2... +0.17"]

1. a3 e5 2. a4 Nc6 {+0.17/17 3}
{White resigns} 0-1

You are right that WB does not save these data - when two engines play against each other! I'm not sure why, it looks like force command is sent only when engines play.
