Alibaba 1.8 here only works as Black, as White it immediately falls into
an endless loop spitting out depth 0 infos forever. The same behaviour
can be reproduced also in console mode by just typing 'go'.

And Alibaba formats captures poorly/wrongly, e.g. d8-d5 instead of
d8xd5 or d8d5.
ChessGUI does not like that.

To clarify the issue a bit more, Alibaba works as White without external
book. It also works as Black with a Thinkerbook, but it does _not_ work
as White with a Thinkerbook. Below are the debugs.

Changes:

1. Problem not playing as white. (max depth of search was being reset to zero before start)
2. Not showing proper capture notation (ChessGui doesn't like that)
3. Added a wb2uci setup to the distribution so it can be loaded straight into a uci protocol chess gui.

AliBaba is initialized on the wb command 'new' so if you wish to test
on the command line that is is working correctly the sequence of commands

Hi Jim, thanks for your efforts! I really appreciate your work.
I want to mention though that version 1.9 now also has a problem
with Black, actually it seems now it is out of sync with the Bookthinker
moves for both sides and produces an illegal move once it thinks on its own.

Sorry Jim, for me it neither works correctly with a Thinkerbook(illegal moves) nor with a Polyglot book under WB 4.315(strange low depths
show up in the output window, probably Polyglot cannot read the ouput of Alibaba correctly). At least it still works without any book,
but even here I noticed that it often doesn't show any score/depth inmidst the game. Is this intended?

Hi Jim,

May be I was too tired from testing or perhaps I missed the ini file
in one of my test folders? Now that I test on my new machine Bookthinker
seems to work with it!
The problem with sometimes missing readable output for WB or just
sending only info for a very low depth inspite much longer thinking
remains though.

Glad it's working

I've fixed the pv output problem. Alibaba was just printing too much
additional search info to the console which was affecting the pv.
New version out today + a few other bugfixes.

Hi Jim,

I am back to WIN XP Pro now

Alibaba 1.16 crashes now quite often, when it is in a lost position.
BTW it also breaks automatical resign in WB because it often screws up the
sign(and the score) when it has a bad position.
It then jumps e.g. from -4.xx to +160.00 and then back e.g. to -5.x
and so on.
