Thanks for the compiles.

I am afraid the 64bit compiles for Cyclone are not faster :(

Werner Schüle:
Hi...

I am not a programmer nor a compiler.
I posted a link here coz these compiles were made after lots of discussion between Denis P Mendoza, Vempele, BigMomma and Prima about compiler's flag options in some other forum. The reason for posting links here is to make these x64 versions available to the members of this forum too!

As I know, Cyclone is based on Toga-II 1.4 beta 5C, I guess Toga-II 1.4 beta 5C x64 is experiencing same problem of being slow. So, Denis P Mendoza is the proper person who can assist us on this.

By the way, Are you experiencing same problem of being slow with Grapefruit 1.0 x 64 compiles too!
Your feedback on Grapefruit 1.0 x 64 will be helpful.
Thanks for your current comments on Cyclone 3.4, it is really good to know.

Denis P Mendoza : Could you please comment on...

Thanks for the clarification!

I did only a short test here. Now I made the same with grapefruit. Here I think 64bit is slightly faster - but not easy to say as I too saw other evaluations with the 64bit compile one time. So here more tests are necessary.

It is not a problem of the compile: Fruit, Toga, Grapefruit and Cyclone all use (a modified?) mailbox board representation, not bitboards, so there shouldn't be any gain in performance for a 64 bit compile anyway.
