winboard232d source

Postby matematiko » 26 Feb 2009, 07:51

Hello all,

Does anyone happens to have the source code for winboard232d.exe ?

This is my isue:

I am part of a group of players that play mostly in Yahoo...we use to ways to do this:
1-Yahoo<-YaY(and ICS emulator)->Winboard<-Polyglot->Rybka(or the UCI engine of your choice)
2.-Yahoo<-YaY->Winboard<-winboard232d->Chessbase GUI->Rybka

We have noticed that for some reason Rybka plays stronger in a Chessbase enviroment, but it lacks the speed of ployglot at endgames because Chessbase ignores the clock updates sent via Yahoo->YaY->Winboard->winbaard232->Chessbase. For example, Rybka plays stronger in chessbase vs. rybka-polyglot even with a time buffer of 40....but again, it lacks speed at game end. I forgot to mention that we are 1/0 maniacs.

My intentions are to do some packet sniffing sessions in PCC and find out how the lag is removed from the picture and the server clock updates are sent to the engine, then modify winboard232d accordingly.

So, we will more greatful if someone can provide us with the source code for winboard232d, or any other ideas to resolve this issue are welcome.

Thanks !!!!

mATEMATIKO,

You'll find a similar source code here:
1. http://tim-mann.org/extensions.html
2. http://remi.coulom.free.fr/

I had lots of these before but couldn't find it again. But I think this could be enough for a start. Just give credit to Christian Donninger for this nice utility.
