New Frank-Walter version (1.0.8)

Dear All,

I'm finally again somewhat satisfied with the progress of my hobby:-)

Currently available for release is Frank-Walter 1.0.8, which is for me a major release since 1.0.5, because:
- It now includes an opening book. Special thanks to Colin Frayn for allowing me to use his format (or rather, his books;-)
- I've revamped the whole of the move generation process to generate only legal moves: SJ Edwards made it sound like fun on the CCC forum^^
- It's now possible to use a bigger transposition table by running the program as "java -Xmx256M -jar fw.jar" or similar.
- Playing strenght has been increased by the implementation of killer moves for the move ordering process!

At non-lightning time controls, my new program should now be better than it's predecessor JanWillem, even though the latter was written in a clearly faster language :D

Thanks all for taking an interest, Laurens.

Hi Laurens !

You will be pleased to know that this new version of Frank Walter proved to be strong enough for my F group :)

By the way the archive should be renamed from *.zip to *.jar

I am very pleased:-)

Only I do not know what you mean with the comment about the extension? Currently all my executable downloads from http://chess.winkelhagen.com are .jar files, with the only exceptions being the JA compiles. (by the way, thanks again, Jim! Nice to see the opening book working perfectly and the bigger TT size, nice! :-)

Hi Laurens

I had to rename the one I downloaded, the extension was *.zip instead of *.jar

Maybe a joke from my download software ? Who knows :)
