Hi all,

Plisk 0.1.2 has been released (http://sites.google.com/site/pliskchess/).

Since I am actively working in it, I will use this thread to announce when new versions are out.

Regards,
Vlad.

Hi Vlad,

Plisk works for me under ChessGUI, but not Fritz.

Hi Graham,

I appreciate your feedback. Unfortunately I do not have Fritz (and have never used it). When you say Fritz you mean Chessbase? Is the interface free? Where can I download/buy it from?

Is this what you mean: http://www.chessbase.com/shop/product.asp?pid=358

I am sorry for my lack in knowledge about this.

Regards,
Vlad.

Hi Vlad,

by Fritz, I mean a Chessbase interface. I'm not sure that there is a free version. Fritz 11 is the latest product that uses the Chessbase GUI.

Graham.

Hi Vlad,

I just noticed when using Plisk 0.12 in a tournament that the problem with using a cpu
in ponder off is there again. Actually it even seems it is a bit worse than before.
On my quad with ponder off it uses always one cpu when it is not to move and two cpus
when it is its turn. In the config there is threads set to 1.

Guenther

I have even a bigger problem....Plisk 0.1.2 doesn't fire up at all under Windows XP Proffesional x64....
I installed Microsoft .NET Framework 2 and still....the engine keeps on giving an error message....

Hi Guenther,

I am aware of this problem. It is fixed in the current version that I am working on. I am afraid that I do not have a release date for it yet. I will keep you posted.

Vlad.

Hi,

I am afraid I cannot help there, since I do not have access to a XP64 system. But I am sure some people here have gotten it to work under that. Maybe someone can share their experiences?

It must be something related to installed software. I am building the binaries under Vista Home Premium 64 using Visual Studio 2008. It must pull in some libraries that are required when ran under XP that you might not have. But those are only guesses really.

Vlad.

Hi Oliver,
Aha....so the .NET Frame 3.5 can be installed under the XP x64 :D
I wasn't aware of that because I didn't find a 64 bit version of the 3.5 .NET Frame....
Ok thanks to both of you,Oliver and Vlad,I'll give it a shot and will report when I'm ready :)
