Thanks for this new version, for the linux versions in particular.
According to a first test it seems to be improved in strength:
Code: Select all
Computer Chess Game
vpittlik, 2009.10.11
                           Score     1234567890
------------------------------------------------
 1: Hermann 2.5           7.5 / 10   =101011111
 2: Arasan 11.5 (1 cpu)   2.5 / 10   =010100000
------------------------------------------------
10 games: +2 =1 -7

When setting it up as an xboard engine I implemented the same values which are
shown when running as an uci engine. It says:
option name NeuroMaterial type spin default 40 min 0 max 100

In the example of the Hermann.ini it is written:
option name NeuroMaterial type spin default 35 min 0 max 100

# The neural networks share of the material evaluation in percent
.

I guess the example file is just not updated?

Correct. This option defaults to 40. I will correct the descriptions in the Hermann.ini and upload the new .zip and .tar files soon.
But this may take some time because I want to wait for a test game with long time control to finish before I can boot linux.

The engine will not change. It is just the description of the options in the file Hermann.ini.

I just downloaded and tested it with 7zip and with Windows XP's zip. I also tested the files inside. No problems found.
