xboard question: how to not see puzzle solution

I have a collection of mate-in-two puzzles in pgn. When I load one into winboard it automatically advances the display to the end of the puzzle. I have read man winboard a couple of times now but don't see how to stop this. I'm calling winboard with
bash$ winboard -npc
and have it set for edit mode.
