New 8 core tournament starting next weekend

Postby Graham Banks » 23 Sep 2012, 05:50

Seeing as I'll be on another break after this week, I'll run another tournament at 40/40 ponder off using engines that can use 8 cores.
As before it will be broadcast live through playchess, TLCV or both.

If any engine authors want me to include newer beta versions or private versions, flick me an email.

Unfortunately the Intel Xeon chips used in this octal are not compatible with SSE, so this will exclude some engines from participating unless a compatible compile can be supplied.
For this reason, I've noted various engines in my list below.

Note I've also removed or excluded engines no longer being developed (Naum, Deep Onno, Zappa), some whose authors already have a stronger engine included (Bright) and others for various reasons that include time loss problems (DeepSaros, Deep Sjeng, Cyclone, RedQueen).

Here is my list of partcipants at present.

Houdini 2.0c
Stockfish 2.3.1
Critter 1.6a
Deep Rybka 4.1
