Howto play with chess engine on icc in the computer pool.

Postby Chess-Masta » 14 Aug 2015, 14:17

Hi,

I created a computer account on ICC (chessclub.com) to let my chess engine play within the computer pool (just a s hobby).

When i start winboard 4.80b the engine i selected is loaded automaticly and i can play against it on my computer.

But when i connect to icc (i can login in with my computer account) then the engine is greyed out and not loaded.

I found that i should start winboard with some command line to start it correctly to get the engine loaded when connecting to ICC.

But after fiddling arround for some day and not finding the solution in google. I turn here and hope you can help me out to fix my issue.

Your help is much appriciated. How can i make the chess engine play on ICC ?

Ps.
I already could make this work with Arena but unfortunately arene hang several times (so gets flagged). So know i want to try with winboard and hope it will be more stable.

Maybe by specifying it in the command line? When I played in HGM's tournament (on his ICS server, not ICC), I used this command in a shortcut:

winboard -zp -ics -icshost winboard.nl -icshelper timeseal -fcp ENGINE.exe -fd ENGINEFOLDER -autoKibitz

Maybe you can do something similar, but pointing to the ICC website?
