Shows up as critical error on my computer. Maybe Graham Banks
could tell what is going on.

I honestly don't have a clue as to why the CCC forum is down.
Hopefully it won't be for too long! :o

Regards, Graham.

Gotta love multiple forums :) My first thought was to check here after seeing it was down; to see if there was updates. Glad I'm not the only one getting the error message.

Hopefully it'll be back up soon.

Well, it has been down for nearly 48hrs now I think. Still, it is the weekend now so I can understand if the site admins have family priorities etc

Possible reason for CCC being down

Word has it that this could well be the reason for CCC being down:

Strange that the tornado only affected the forum. The other parts of their website are running fine.

They still did not inform you as a moderator what is going on?

Because we are talking about storms: I hope the situation in Jamaica is OK?

I live about 10 miles, as the crow flies, from their store. This is the first time I heard anything about a recent tornado. We have had some wet weather for a couple of days after a sustained hot, dry spell lasting a couple of weeks. But nothing unusual.

Here is a real-time outage map from the local power company. The store is in the Babylon area.

Their server is not necessarily on-site, and indeed the board is not necessarily on the same server as their web site. I'd be very surprised if it is. SO who knows. I guess Monday it will be back up :)

Hi All,

Just got a mail from CCC :

Hi Everyone,

The Computer Chess Club / Chess Thinkers Forum is experiencing some sort of problem with the database. We've been working on getting it fixed and running. Hopefully it will be up again soon. We are working with our ISP to solve the problem without the loss of any past data. As more information becomes available, I will notify you all.

Regards,
Quentin
