In the meantime, many chess engines have been developed. However, Korean chess was not developed. Can you implement Korean chess?

It seems that Winboard does support many variants, but I don't believe that 장기 is supported as of yet.
Indeed, it would be nice to see a few more variants, but I suspect it is beyond the scope of the application.

Giveaway or 'Suicide" chess are fun options. It's also quite fun to play bughouse and some other variant.

It might be best to get a 'dedicated' app for Korean chess, Chinese chess, Go, Shogi, Go-Moku and others. :)

Happy holidays!

Latest version of the WinBoard does support Janggi. But this is still in an alpha testing phase, and not every WinBoard feature might work yet.

The design goal of WinBoard is to provide full support for every chess variant. For Chinese Chess and Shogi this was already realized long ago. Dedicated apps would probably inferior, because they would usually not have so many general features as WinBoard.

Go and Go-Moku are not chess variants.

The appeal by janggi-korea was not so much for implementation in a GUI, but for development of engines.
